Origin
Eleanor Mair opened the Hamilling office after advising in Glasgow, wanting a quieter setting where discovery meetings could run without the rush of a high-street sales floor. The name Blue Anchor reflects the harbour towns along this stretch of coast — a reminder that financial plans should hold in rough weather, not only on calm days.
How we work
We begin with suitability: if a question sits outside regulated advice, we say so and point you toward the right professional. When we proceed, we gather facts before recommendations. Clients receive written notes they can share with a partner or accountant. Referrals to solicitors for wills and trusts are part of normal practice when inheritance conversations reach drafting stage.
